Amber Rogers has been playing music for over 15 years. She is known for playing a wide variety of instruments in a number of different styles. She enjoys playing old-time, bluegrass, classical, gospel, and Celtic.

Amber's musical journey began when she was at the young age of 4. She started her musical career on the fiddle and soon began classical piano training. Amber has a fascination with learning new instruments and continues to pick up new instruments, adding to her list. Amber took a few years of fiddle and piano lessons but is self taught on her other instruments. She plays the piano, fiddle, hammered dulcimer, claw-hammer banjo, mandolin and sings. She can add to your event in a number of different ways through her wide variety of instruments. Amber's favorite place to be is in the background, adding licks and runs to help enhance what other musicians are playing. She enjoys playing with any instruments, in any style of music. Amber reads music and plays by ear, giving her the best of both worlds.

Amber enjoys teaching her knowledge of music to others. She teaches numerous private lessons on piano, fiddle, hammered dulcimer, and banjo. She also enjoys directing bell choirs. When teaching workshops, Amber does not just teach a new tune but looks at the playing ability of the student, encourages them in their playing, and suggests things to look at and work on. Amber also enjoys teaching others how to play with other instruments, when to take breaks, and when to stay in the background.

Amber plays as a member of the family band Scenic Roots. Scenic Roots has performed at a number of different venues including but not limited to: private parties, church events, festivals, contra dances, nursing homes, schools, community celebrations, art councils, and house concerts. Scenic Roots is comprised of the Rogers family. Her sister Erin Rogers won the National Mountain Dulcimer Championship in 2004. Amber plays the fiddle, hammered dulcimer, banjo, mandolin, and does much of the lead and harmony singing for the group. They have performed in 17 states and Japan. Amber has also performed for weddings and a college musical.

Amber is sure to brighten your event with a warm smile and her many strings. Find out more information about Amber at www.myspace.com/amberrogersfiddle.
